NOW THE WEATHER IS WARMER IT IS TIME FOR THE SPA OR HOT TUB.
The important facts about Spa Pool care are:
Keep the pH up to 7.8. By adding sodium bicarbonate 500g, (This should last a month or so) as a low pH increases chlorine usage and dissolves the electronic probes in the heater mechanism, which will cost you MONEY!! Gas heater heat exchangers being copper are very suseptable to corrosion so it is more important to keep your pH right.
Trichlor tablets 15g, or Bromine tablets in a floater will keep pool sanitised for long periods
Also dichlor 10-20g every 2-3 days works well.Do not use Cal Hypo granules as this will lead to insolubles (cloudy water) and chlorine sensitivities (rashes & skin irritations)
Also add half a cup of Calcium Hardner (Calcium chloride). Test water for pH, total alkalinity and hardness every 2 weeks
SUMMER IS HERE.
If pool is green or full of leaves at any time Vacuum to waste till clear then shock dose. WITH 2KG OF CAL HYPO PER 30-40,000 LITRES INCREASE filter time to 9 hours a day, 3 + 3 + 3 is a good idea, and chlorine once every 2-3 DAYS according to test. ALGAECIDE every 2 MONTHS. TEST FOR CHLORINE EVERY 2-3 DAYS. CHECK YOUR SKIMMER BASKET ONCE A WEEK AND YOUR PUMP LINT BASKET ONCE A MONTH. Clogged leaves will starve your pump and possibly burn it out.
FOR SALT IONISED POOLS KEEP THE SALT LEVEL UP TO 0.4 TO 0.6% ( READ MANUFACTURES INSTRUCTIONS) AS A LOW LEVEL OF SALT WILL SHORTEN THE LIFE OF THE CELL
Check cyanuric acid level, pH and total alkalinity
ANY STAINS ON TILES CAN BE REMOVED BY A GOLDILOCKS MIT (FROM KITCHEN) WITH DETERGENT. POOL ACCESSORIES
